Looked Through: Libraries by Candida Hofer, 2005, 9783829601863.
I saw this in a catalog somewhere. This copy came from Merrill, WI via ILL. Photographs of various private, national, university, and public libraries. Most photos are from Western Europe with a few from the U.S. and Brazil. Neat to see the different designs and how a standard design has carried on and been replicated in so many places. Older libraries have the grandeur of important public buildings of cradles of knowledge. Newer buildings bow to new design elements and the realities of cost and materials.
I skipped the essay by Umberto Eco.
